Meet Makayla Rae'

Makayla Rae' was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease type SS at six weeks old. She has spent a lot of time in the hospital and has left a lasting impression on many of the hospital's staff. Makayla is homeschooled along with her siblings. She enjoys math and science, but reading is a deal breaker. She is enrolled in gymnastics. Her current goal is to work hard to be able to join the gymnastics team with her sister. Makayla is a member at Abundant Love Christian Ministries. She is member of the mime dancing ministry where her Dad is their instructor. She enjoys church, youth fellowship, and good food Sunday. At her young age, Makayla understands Sickle Cell Disease and what is happening in her body. She is very conscious of resting and hydrating. She understands that other children all over the world have the same diagnosis as her. She is always suggesting ideas and things to do for the other children and families.
